Warriors of Unia
Crossbow Ranger from Lothbrook
Tad’s hometown is a relatively young coastal village called Lothbrook. The settlers of the town were a formerly nomadic tribe known as the Hundur. Tad was born shortly after the town was settled and watched it grow around him to become a vital trading post. The town’s main export is fish, and the tribe takes great pride in their prowess hunting large sea creatures. Even the harsh winters do not deter the Hundur from their fishing, partially due to their philosophy of canceling out all emotion and focusing solely on the task at hand.
From his youth, Tad impressed his elders with his incredible control over his emotions. He was an exceptional hunter, mastering the bow and then crossbow at an age when most Hundur were struggling with their first fishing rods. He was one of the first of his tribe to learn the hand crossbow, and as he grew he found carrying a crossbow in each hand suited his hunting style. Throughout all of this, he continued to display no emotion. His parents were proud, but Tad kept the concerning truth of the matter to himself.
When his closest friend got married and had children, Tad’s concern could no longer be avoided. His whole life, he had been taught to not show emotion. However, while most had to train to do this, it had always been natural for him. Tad had never felt emotion, and always seemed to have a void of nothing in his center. When he consulted with the village elders they had told him it was a blessing, but Tad was not sure. Tad (who at this point had become their main scout and hunter) decided that he needed to explore the world to see if he was even capable of feeling any emotion at all. His mother and father were gone and his only connection to the village was his friend, who had his own family to focus on. He found the posters for the Breyon Corporation and decided to join – not for the adventure or money, but for the opportunity to see the world and hopefully experience this strange concept that others called emotion.
